History

     Public Finance and Public Administration School originated from the Department of Public Finance & Credit, Jiangxi Provincial Business School, which was founded in 1923. After the development in the past decades, the school has become a teaching and research institution which functions in the following four aspects: students’ education, scientific research, service for the society, and cultural transmission.

Organization

     The organization of the school is well-structured. There are five teaching departments, including Public Finance Department, Taxation Department, Social Security Department, Public Administration Department and Public Management Department, and six affiliated academic and education centers, including Public Finance Research Center, Chinese Tax Stamp Research Center, Public Policy Research Center, Master of Public Administration (MPA) Education Center, Master of Taxation (MT) Education Center, and Civil Servants Training Center.

Academic Staff

    The number of academic staff is 55 in total, with 45 full-time teachers and 38 of them have obtained doctoral degree. In the school, there are 21 professors, 16 associate professors, 6 doctoral instructors, and 37 master instructors. In addition, 21 teachers have been awarded special honors of provincial level as follows: Beneficiary of Provincial Government Special Bonus, Membership of Provincial GanBo 555 Talents Project, Membership of Provincial BaiQianWan Talents Project, Provincial Prominent Teacher in Higher Education, Provincial Yong and Middle-aged Discipline Pioneer, Provincial Young and Middle-aged Elite, and Winner of Provincial Youth Medal.

Academic Programs

    The school provides a wide spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs. Various education quality projects and laboratories sponsored both by central and local governments facilitate to establish a comprehensive and interdependent education framework where degree programs are set at multi-levels.

 Academic Achievements

The staff has made much achievement in academic research. In recent years, over 800 academic essays have been published in professional journals, among them 60 essays are accepted by authoritative journals, nearly 100 essays are indexed by CSSCI, and over 50 essays are indexed by EI, ISTP, and other academic resources. The staff has accomplished nearly 50 state-sponsored or provincial-sponsored research projects, and over 40 projects are being carried on. Over 20 essays and projects have been awarded at provincial level. The Public Finance Research Center has become one of the key research bases of social science in Jiangxi Province.

Service for the Economy and the Society

    Relying on academic advantages, the school offers various training programs in terms of public finance and public administration for officials and employees from governments and enterprises, and provides intellectual support to government for policy decision by carrying on academic projects entrusted by government and enterprises.
